How to Apply

The grant application process is different for the Mid-Atlantic region and Utah. Please see the relevant section for additional details on how to apply.

Mid-Atlantic Application Process

Applying for a grant in the Mid-Atlantic region is done through an online grant management system. To apply through the grant management system, follow the steps below:

 

  • Review the grant guidelines to ensure you qualify for a grant from The Kahlert Foundation. 

  • Click here to access the grant management system.

  • After clicking the link, you will need to do one of the following:

    • New User: register and create an account.

    • Existing User: log in using your username and password.

  • After logging in you will be taken to your dashboard. Click the "Apply" button at the top of the page to go to the application. From there, please use the appropriate access code described below:

    • New Applicant:

      • Enter access code MATLOI at the top of the "Apply" page and you will be directed to the Letter of Intent or LOI under the "New Grantee Request" page.

      • If you have never received a grant from The Kahlert Foundation, please use the "New Grantee" instructions and process.

    • Returning Applicant:

      • Enter access code MATGRANT at the top of the "Apply" page and you will be directed to the Full Grant Application under the "Returning Grantee Request" page.

      • If you have received a grant from The Kahlert Foundation previously or have been instructed by The Kahlert Foundation to complete a full grant, please use the "Returning Grantee" instructions and process.

Utah Application Process

Applying for a grant in Utah is done through an online grant management system. To apply through the grant management system, follow the steps below:

 

  • Review the grant guidelines to ensure you qualify for a grant from The Kahlert Foundation. 

  • Click here to access the grant management system.

  • After clicking the link, you will need to do one of the following:

    • New User: register and create an account.

    • Existing User: log in using your username and password.

  • After logging in you will be taken to your dashboard. Click the "Apply" button at the top of the page to go to the application. From there, please use the appropriate access code described below:

    • New Applicant:

      • Enter access code UTAHLOI at the top of the "Apply" page and you will be directed to the Letter of Intent or LOI under the "New Grantee Request" page.

      • If you have never received a grant from The Kahlert Foundation, please use the "New Grantee" instructions and process.

    • Returning Applicant:

      • Enter access code UTAHGRANT at the top of the "Apply" page and you will be directed to the Full Grant Application under the "Returning Grantee Request" page.

      • If you have received a grant from The Kahlert Foundation previously or have been instructed by The Kahlert Foundation to complete a full grant, please use the "Returning Grantee" instructions and process.

Additional Details

The board typically meets three times a year. Grant requests should be submitted at the beginning of the previous month if they are to be considered at that board meeting. The earlier a grant request is received the greater the likelihood the grant will be reviewed and presented at the next board meeting.

Grant Request Deadline

Organizations will be notified of the decision by the board of directors approximately two weeks after the board meeting. The foundation regrets that our resources are limited and are unable to support all good ideas and proposals. The Kahlert Foundation’s fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30.
